Cognac Belt Blanks are made from premium Italian leather with a sealed surface and resin backing. Both sides have a neat finish. As a result, they provide a great starting point for your next handmade belt.
Choose from six widths to suit your project. You can also select a standard blank or a tipped and holed option.
Cognac Belt Blanks – Sizes and Finish
- Thickness: Approximately 3.8–4 mm.
- Widths: 20, 25, 32, 38, 45 and 50 mm.
- Length: Approximately 1.2–1.45 m; guaranteed over 1.2 m.
- Leather: Premium Italian leather.

Choose the Right Width
First, check the inside width of your buckle. Then choose a blank that matches. For example, use a 38 mm blank with a buckle made for a 38 mm strap.
Also, check the length before you start. Allow extra leather for the buckle fold and belt tip. The listed length refers to the whole blank, rather than a finished waist size.
Standard or Tipped and Holed
Choose the standard option if you want to shape the tip and punch your own holes. Alternatively, select the tipped and holed option to reduce the work needed.
Before fitting your buckle, check the belt length and hole positions. Then trim and prepare the buckle end to suit your chosen hardware.
Finish Your Belt
Cognac Belt Blanks have a sealed surface and resin backing. Therefore, test any glue or finishing product on an offcut first.
Finally, add a buckle and keeper to complete your belt. Choose your preferred hardware finish to make the warm cognac colour your own.
