Vegetable-Tanned Leather Belt Blanks

Create your own handmade leather belt with our veg tan belt blanks. Cut from unfinished vegetable-tanned leather, these plain leather straps provide an excellent starting point for beginners, hobbyists and experienced leatherworkers.

Each belt blank measures a minimum of 1.2 metres long and is available in various widths to suit different belt buckles and design styles. Because the leather is supplied unfinished, you can carve, stamp, emboss or tool the surface to create a personalised design.

Natural vegetable-tanned leather readily accepts leather dyes, antique finishes, oils and conditioners. The edges can also be bevelled, dyed, coated or burnished for a clean, professional finish.

These blanks are suitable for creating everyday belts, Western-style belts, custom leathercraft projects and personalised gifts.

⚠️ Important: These are unfinished leather straps. You will need to trim, edge, polish, punch and attach your own buckle, keeper and other hardware to complete your belt.
