Create a distinctive handcrafted snake stubby cooler with this pre-cut natural leather outer panel. Made from approximately 2.8mm natural embossing leather, the panel has been pressed with a detailed snake design that gives your completed cooler a bold Australian character.

The leather panel measures approximately 260mm x 110mm and comes ready cut with pre-punched holes along both ends. This saves preparation time and makes it easier to lace the panel together after it has been attached to a suitable neoprene inner.

Supplied in its natural unfinished colour, the snake stubby cooler panel provides plenty of scope for personalisation. Dye it in your preferred colour, apply an antique finish to highlight the recessed snake pattern, and seal the surface for added protection. The edges can also be bevelled, coloured or burnished to create a clean, professional result.

How to Assemble Your Stubby Cooler

Apply a suitable contact adhesive evenly to both the back of the leather panel and the outside of the compatible neoprene inner. Carefully align the two pieces and glue them together firmly, ensuring the leather fits evenly around the neoprene.

Allow the adhesive to dry according to its instructions. Once securely bonded, lace the pre-punched ends together to complete the cooler. Gluing the leather to the neoprene is essential for achieving a snug, properly shaped and durable finished product.

Customising the Natural Leather

The unfinished natural leather can be customised with leather dyes, antique finishes, paints and protective top coats. Applying an antique paste is an excellent way to darken the recessed areas and emphasise the embossed snake design.

For the best result, test your selected dye or finish on a small inconspicuous area before treating the entire panel. Allow each product to dry completely before applying the next finish or assembling the cooler.
