How to Apply MR MAC Dye

Mix or shake the dye thoroughly before use. Always test the product on a leather offcut or an inconspicuous section first. The finished colour may vary depending on the leather’s original colour, surface finish and absorbency.

Make sure the leather is clean and free from dust, grease, oil, wax and other surface residue. Wearing suitable protective gloves is recommended.

Apply the dye using a moist or dry lint-free cloth, sponge or soft brush. Work quickly across the leather in small sections using a circular motion to help achieve consistent coverage. Avoid oversaturating the leather, as excessive dye may produce an uneven finish and increase drying time.

Allow the first coat to dry completely. If greater colour depth or coverage is required, apply additional thin coats until the desired result is achieved. Several light coats will generally produce a cleaner and more uniform appearance than one heavy application.

Sealing the Leather

Once the dye has dried completely, apply a compatible leather sealer or top finish. Sealing helps lock in the colour, reduce colour transfer and protect the finished surface from handling and regular use.

Always follow the instructions provided with your chosen sealer. Test the dye and sealer combination on an offcut before treating the entire project.
