- These popular colours include Black, Dark Brown, Light Brown, Cordovan and Saddle Tan. There is also a 250 mls Seal & Shine. Save approximately $10 buying them as a kit. Dyes are used to colour leather. They are water soluble so can be diluted or mixed to achieve the desired result. After dying the leather apply a coat of Seal & Shine to protect and seal the leather so the dye doesn’t come off onto clothing, and also add a gloss to the finished product.
