A basic belt course typically covers all aspects of belt making, from choosing the right leather and tools to cutting, sizing, dying, sealing, and finishing the belt.

The course will start with an overview of the different types of leather available, including their properties and characteristics. Students will learn how to choose the right type of leather for their project and how to prepare it for cutting.

Next, students will learn how to measure and size the belt, taking into consideration the width, length, and thickness of the leather. They will also learn how to cut the leather using a variety of tools such as knives, shears, and punches.

Once the belt has been cut to size, students will learn how to dye the leather using a variety of techniques to achieve different colors and effects. They will also learn how to seal the leather to protect it from moisture and wear.

Finally, students will learn how to finish the belt, adding hardware such as buckles and rivets, and polishing the leather to give it a professional look. By the end of the course, students will have a finished belt that they can take home and wear with pride.
